Xmonad’s unified workspaces across monitors is my favorite feature. What made you switch? I suspect it’s because xmobar exits automatically when its handle is closed. Note that you need to import XMonad. I just switched from metacity to xmonad and I am very impressed by the tiling window manager concept.
I am trying to get my 3 xmonsd setup to work with independent screens, I am also trying to multiplle the xmobar to show on every screen that I got.

Sign up using Facebook. There are two xmonad-contrib libraries that make multi-head navigation not only bearable but a multkple godsend and they are CycleWS and TagWindows. But I thing bothers me: I think there’s a lot of value of being able to do one workspace across all monitors.
IndependentScreens or your physical monitors? Works fine in xmonad and awesome. What do you mean by “independent screens”?
